Terms of use

Syctech India Private Limited · Effective date: April 2026

1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of the Syctech mobile app, the Syctech smart metering platform and the website syctech.in (together, the “Service”), provided by Syctech India Private Limited (“Syctech”, “we”, “us”). By signing in to the app or using the Service you agree to these terms, our Privacy policy and our Refund and cancellation policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

This document is an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and does not need a physical or digital signature.

2. Who can use the app

The app is for residents, owners, tenants and account holders of properties (“Society”) where Syctech smart meters are installed, whose mobile number has been registered by that Society. You must be at least 18 years old, or use the app with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian.

3. Your account and sign-in

  • You sign in with your registered mobile number and a one-time code we send on WhatsApp. Do not share this code with anyone. Syctech staff will never ask you for it.
  • You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your phone secure. Tell us at once at support@syctech.in if you think someone else has used your account.
  • If your mobile number changes, ask your Society to update it.

4. The service

The app lets you see the meters linked to your mobile number, your prepaid wallet balance, energy usage from the grid (EB) and generator (DG), power and load status, and your transactions and receipts, and lets you recharge your wallet and restore supply after an overload. We may add, change or remove features over time.

5. Your Society’s role

Syctech provides the meters, software and payment collection on behalf of your Society. Your Society, or its facility manager, decides the electricity tariffs, generator rates, fixed and maintenance charges, sanctioned load, minimum balance and disconnection rules that apply to your flat. Questions or disputes about these should be raised with your Society. Syctech applies them as configured.

6. Recharges and payments

  • Recharges are paid through our payment gateway (Easebuzz) by UPI, debit or credit card, net banking or other methods it offers. The gateway’s terms also apply to your payment.
  • A recharge is credited to your wallet once the payment is confirmed by the gateway. Amounts are in Indian rupees and include any applicable taxes. Any convenience fee or payment charge, where one applies, is shown on the payment page before you pay.
  • The wallet balance can only be used for electricity and related charges for the meter it was recharged for. It does not earn interest and cannot be transferred or withdrawn as cash, except as set out in the Refund policy.
  • Check the meter shown on the recharge screen before paying. We are not responsible for a recharge made to the wrong meter because of incorrect details you entered, though we will help to correct it where possible.

7. Disconnection and overload

Your meter may automatically disconnect supply when your wallet balance reaches zero or the minimum set by your Society, or when your load goes above the sanctioned limit. Supply is restored when you recharge, or when the overload is cleared. Keep enough balance, especially before holidays or travel, and avoid running heavy appliances together beyond your sanctioned load. Syctech is not liable for loss or inconvenience caused by a disconnection that happens under these rules.

8. Meter data and accuracy

The app shows data reported by your meter and our platform. Readings can be delayed when the meter or the Society’s network is offline. The balance and records held on the metering platform are the reference for billing. If you believe a reading or deduction is wrong, contact us with details and we will investigate with your Society.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • access meters or accounts that are not yours, or try to;
  • tamper with, bypass or interfere with a meter, its wiring or its communication;
  • reverse engineer, overload, scan or attack the app, platform or servers;
  • use the Service for anything unlawful or fraudulent.

Meter tampering may also be an offence under the Electricity Act, 2003.

10. Intellectual property

The app, platform, website, the Syctech name and logo, and their content belong to Syctech or its licensors. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use the app for its intended purpose.

11. Availability

We work to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Maintenance, network outages, third-party services (such as WhatsApp or the payment gateway) and events outside our control may affect it.

12. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is”, and Syctech is not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Syctech’s total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount of the recharge or charge that gave rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or other law that cannot be excluded.

13. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if your Society removes your registration, or if your Society’s agreement with Syctech ends. You may stop using the app at any time and ask us to delete your account as described in the Privacy policy.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to your rights as a consumer, the courts at Gautam Buddh Nagar (Noida), Uttar Pradesh have jurisdiction. We may update these terms; the version on this page with its effective date applies, and we will tell you in the app about material changes.
